Together with the exhibition “Eleven Worlds“ in the Museum of the capital city of Prague you can see one more modest exhibition of New Year Cards by cartoonists in the Café Gallery of Eva Jandejskova in Prague-Smichov (Lidicka street 22) where my pictures will be presented as well. You are welcome at the opening of the exhibition on Friday 7th December at 6 p. m.

Současně s výstavou 11 světů v Muzeu hlavního města Prahy bude teď v matce měst viset ještě jedna skromnější expozice, kde budou taky k vidění moje obrázky – výstava autorských novoročenek humoristických kreslířů v Galerijní kavárně Evy Jandejskové na Smíchově (Lidická 22). Na vernisáž se můžete přijít podívat v pátek 7. prosince od 18 hodin.
V podstatě během několika dní vyšly hned tři “moje” knížky. Po dvou knihách pověstí a pohádek mě právě překvapil Mirek & spol. od Vojtěcha Steklače z roku 1985. Vyzdobená je však pochopitelně nikoliv obrázky Adolfa Borna, ale mými černobílými kresbami i celostránkovými barevnými ilustracemi. A jde už o šestou knihu obnovené edice Kompletní Boříkovy příhody od Nakladatelství XYZ.
In a few days, three of “my” books will have been published. After two books of legends and fairy tales, I was surprised by “Mirek & Co.” written by Vojtech Steklac in 1985. Of course, it is not full of pictures by Adolf Born, but my black and white drawings and full-page, colourful illustrations. It is the sixth book of the reborn edition of the Complete Borik Adventures, published by XYZ.
Ten pravý, americký Oscar se sice nepovedl, ale z udílení Evropských filmových cen se můžou Češi radovat. Kategorii animovaných filmů vyhrál komiksový Alois Nebel. Evropská trofej má na rozdíl od té americké ženskou podobu.
When I finish a new book with Zdenek Zajicek and Marketa Cekanová, we always welcome it in front of the eyes of Pilsen’s full town square. And it will be the same in the case of our fourth “child” – “A Handful of Fairy Tales from Bohemia, Moravia, and Silesia”. The first one will happen on Sunday 2nd December after 6 p.m. together with the lighting of the Christmas tree, and the second is planned together with the traditional choral singing of Christmas carols on Wednesday 12th December at 6 p.m. I will probably only come to the Sunday events because of time constraints.
