Vhrsti in Stripburger
[ 2009-12-22 ] 52nd issue of iconic Slovenian comics magazine Stripburger was released close before Christmas. There is a huge block devoted to Czech comics. Vhrsti’s short stories Here I am (Tak uz jsem tady) and I Hate People (Nemam rad lidi) are among works of thirteen contemporary Czech authors.

The First Vhrsti´s Book Published Abroad
[ 2009-12-07 ] I´m Not Afraid of the Dark Any More – Vhrsti´s first book from 2007 awarded by the Price of Czech Teachers – was published abroad. Domowina Publishing House published the book in Germany in Upper Sorbian and Lower Sorbian languages.
Golden Credit Card Published
[ 2009-12-07 ] XYZ Publishing House is continuing in publishing books written by Vojtech Steklac and ilustrated by Vhrsti. They are coming with new book Hellclass & Golden Credit Card after the last reedition of Borik in Troubles Book this year. Borik, Mirek, Cenda and Ales are not pupil but students of the private high school. Owner of this scholl, unpredictable millionaire Pokstefl, gives them unexpected gift for the summer holiday – golden credit card with 50 millions. He sets them task to invest money and be in profit and boys found detective office to be successful. The world of crime has new enemies in boys and their new friend Hugo – reformed delinquent.
The Day for the Children Book
[ 2009-11-24 ] The Day for the Children Book – trade exhibition of the books with the accompanying programme, creative workshops and board games for kids and adults will take place in the culture house in Horazdovice town on Sunday 29 November. This year, Vhrsti will be also among the festival´s guests. He will come with a small degustation of his work and workshop for kids including reading and drawing pictures about the fairy tale Of a Pole-Jumping Princess. You can also meet Vhrsti one week later (December 5) in Regional museum Cheb.
The Cookbook of Pilsen Ghosts has just published
[ 2009-11-02 ] The Cookbook of Pilsen Ghosts for children from Miroslava Kuntzmannova and Zdenek Zajicek is the newest book with Vhrsti’s illustrations. Readers could conjure 33 delicious magic dishes, be amused by funny rhymes, illustrations and collages. Not only Vhrsti is author of book cover and all illustrations but he also wrote rhymes about five Pilsen rivers, smart puree, black lady and alchemist.
We will welcome the cookbook in the Pilsen Museum of Ghosts 2009-11-11 at 11:11 a.m.
Pilsen Ghostliness II
[ 2009-10-26 ] Pilsen Ghostliness II, independent sequel of the CD Pilsen Ghostliness, was published. Their authors Marketa Cekanova and Zdenek Zajicek got the idea from haunting legends. This album contains their fairy tales and music of Pilsen artists (Znouzectnost, Navzajem, Kloubouk dolu, Strasliva podivana and Petr Vrobel). Vhrsti is author of the original visual form as well as in case of the albums Pilsen Ghostliness and Chodenland Ghostliness.

Sexy girls
[ 2009-09-01 ] Vhrsti wonders surprisingly at his blog why people expect from him children’s pictures and illustrations only if he can draw such a sexy girls… :-)
Don´t Overdrink
[ 2009-08-10 ] Comics authors appeal to everybody to drink within measure. More than ten authors from the Czech Republic and Slovakia have published their own pictures at the website of the project Don´t Overdrink. Vhrsti presents one enlightenment story which is parody about the agent 007. You can also see works by Jiri Grus, Tomas Chlud or Milos Gasparec in the gallery. One new comics is published every week. Association of the responsible producers of the spirit called FORUM PSR is organizer of this creative project.
Don´t Forget Life before 1989
[ 2009-06-16 ] Project Don´t Forget! would like to remind absurdity of the everyday life in the socialistic Czechoslovakia. You can see a lot of articles, photos, videos and period documents. If you want you can also participate on the project as a visitor of the website. You can fill your own text in the comic strips bubbles and win the original T-shirt. You can choose from the pictures of the following authors for your work: Marek Dousa, Stepan Mares, Dan Cerny, Milos Gasparec, Vojta Seda and Vhrsti.
Borik in Troubles Illustrated by Vhrsti
[ 2009-06-11 ] Books edition Borik in Troubles written by Vojtech Steklac and illustrated by Adolf Born have been publishing for 40 years. The first book of the edition called Bohousek & His Mates has changed the style and is coming to bookshops with Vhrsti´s illustrations now. Vhrsti takes a scepter from a famous illustrator Adolf Born and the publishing house is going to plan reeditions of other books and also completely new books written by Vojtech Steklac. It should be the only one complete series of the popular Steklac´s cycle and it would be accompany by Vhrsti´s illustrations.
I´m Not Afraid of the Dark Any More in Jablon
[ 2009-05-11 ] MY Theatre is playing performance Census this Wednesday on May 13 in Pilsen cultural cafe Jablon. Scenic interpretation relates to books of authors from Pilsen – among others one children book – Vhrsti’s I´m Not Afraid of the Dark Any More. The performance starts at 20 p.m.. Admission is free.
Way From the Fairytale City
[ 2009-04-03 ] Exhibition called Way From the Fairytale City is taking place in the functional building of the Czech Radio Pilsen soon. You can enjoy the presentation of projects by Marketa Cekanova, Zdenek Zajicek and their illustrator Vhrsti. Illustrations from two books of fairytales and one small extract from future projects are possible to see from 6 April to the end of the month. Opening starts at 17 p.m.
Vhrsti Not Only for Kids
[ 2009-03-25 ] The Pilsen City Library has prepared a performance Vhrsti Not Only For Kids on the occasion of the International Day of Children Books. Everybody, especially those who have not seen yet or who love the fairytale´s show by Lenka Vackova and Tomas Jeres, are welcome. It might probably be the last occasion to see the funny dramatization of Vhrsti´s fairy tales Of the Marine´s Creature and The Secret of Snowflakes. Jitka Kubistova and Milan Benedikt Karpisek get music for audience. The performance is taking place on 1 April, at 7 p. m. in the Pilsen City Library, Polan´s Room.

All about Vhrsti in Strasice Library
[ 2009-02-09 ] Vhrsti’s exhibition was opened in the new restored house of Strasice Library under the Brdy Hills in February 6. You have had possibility to see not only illustrations, books, memories game, colouring books, T-shirts, stickers, postcards, congratulations cards but also plush toy of Radous. Original silk tie and small tin of special edition Altoids bon-bons with Vhrsti´s comics are the biggest curiosities of the exposition.
By the way Vhrsti obtained Special Prize of the PLZ Literary Magazine for his Com(i)x cycle in February 4.
Generation Zero Has Captured Paris
[ 2009-01-25 ] Generation Zero – New Wave of Czech and Slovak Comics has been showing their works in the Czech Centre in Paris, France till March 21. Exhibition is a part of festival Aprés ’89 which presents changes in the Czech Republic in last 20 years. Festival is under the patronage of Vaclav Havel.
The itinerant exhibition of the Czech Cartoonists‘ Union In Our Gotham continues in Horomerice, Czech Republic. Anyway Vhrsti prepares one-man exhibition in co-operation with Strasice’s library.
Vhrsti also drew 12th part of Tomas Prokupek’s comic series Klacek & Fracek which was published in 8th issue of the prominent comics magazine AARGH!
