Vhrsti „Is Teaching“ Reading and Writting by Genetic Method
[ 2012-06-19 ] Fraus Publishing House has just published a school book for reading and writting lessons using genetic method. Textbooks We Start to Read and Write, We Already Write Independently, workbooks, copybooks and other materials are illustrated by Vhrsti. A series of textbooks of Czech language and literature for the 1st class of elementary schools is an alternative to a more common analytic-synthetic method. The aim of the new textbooks is to help in natural language cognition – students are reading and writing meaningful texts from the very beginning. Textbooks demand more activity from students and helps them to follow their own way in reading and writting.
We are still at War is the Comic of the Year
[ 2012-06-06 ] We are still at War – a book with 13 lifestories drawn by 13 great Czech and Slovak comic artists – was awarded Fabula Rasa (price for the best comic book of the year) by comic readers. Vhrsti wrote and drew Leopold Färber lifestory named Hurvinek´s Stories for this book.
Comic Not Only about Comic in the Chrudim Theatre
[ 2012-05-30 ] A selective comic exhibition of 20 nowadays Czech authors called Comic Not Only about Comic moves from Prague to Chrudim after the premiere at Book World. The opening ceremony will take place in Karel Pippich´s Theatre on 31st May at 5 p. m. The exhibition for which curators Katerina Tuckova and Radim Kopac have selected – Gum Bear, autobiographic comic by Vhrsti,AS WELL, will end 8th July.
Alarm in Paradise is competing in Zlin
[ 2012-05-27 ] Alarm in Paradise, the second episode of nowadays preparing series Au Pair White Woman – children Bedtime stories by the Czech Television, is competing in the 52nd Zlin Film Fest – international competition of animated films for children. The first public projection of the film starts on Tuesday 29th May 2012 at 3:20 p. m. The series was written by Pavel Brycz, drawn by Vhrsti, taped by Martha Issova and directed by Petr Friedl.
We are Still at War in Roztoky near Prague
[ 2012-05-23 ] After Chamber of Czech Deputies, Kabinet Gallery in Roztoky near Prague will be the second station of We are Still at War – 20th Century Stories exhibition. Openning ceremony starts 24th May at 5 p. m. If you want, you can see this exhibition with 13 comic stories drawing by current Czech and Slovak authors according to real life stories till 2nd September.
Vhrsti in Chorzów
[ 2012-05-16 ] Czeska kreska Exhibition where the best Czech cartoonists presented their pieces of work was showed in Warsaw and Lodsch, Poland. In a few days it will be open in the south Polish city Chorzów near Katowice where it will take place from 17th May to 10th June.
Vhrsti at Book World Prague
[ 2012-05-14 ] The biggest Czech book fair Book World Prague will take place in Holesovice from 17th to 20th May. If you would like, you can see there an exhibition with comic by Vhrsti there. His Gum Bear will be a part of the exhibition „Comic Not Only about Comic“ which presents current Czech comic authors with noticable interest in other art media. Exhibition will starts on Thursday 17th May at 2 p. m. in Comic Room in the right part of the area. Vhrsti´s cartoon Shall We Buy Books or Shall We Steal? will as well open a discussion in the Big Room in the Central Area. Vladimír Kroc will moderate this workshop about internet piracy.
Vhrsti among the Finalists of the Journalistic Award Again
[ 2012-05-11 ] Cartoon by Vhrsti is in selection of the Journalistic Award jury that chose his picture among the best in the Best Czech and Slovak Cartoon, Comic or Caricature category again. As last year, the exhibition of elected pictures and photos will be showed in Czech and Slovak cities. The first of them will be „No Comment“ exhibition in Bratislava Open Gallery from 24th April till 31st May.
Vhrsti with colleagues in Lodz, Poland
[ 2012-04-26 ] Czeska Kreska – exhibition compounded from cartoons by members of The Czech Cartoonists´ Union was moved from Warsaw to Lodz in Poland on 19th April. If you want, you can see the exhibition till 3rd May.
Vhrsti put out its horns
[ 2012-04-25 ] After few years Vhrsti has prepared his own exhibition. He will present his cartoons project Snails in Horovice Labe Club on the occasion of the literature festival Horovice of Vaclav Hrabe. Collection of tens of coloured pictures introduces world and Czech celebrities of sciences, arts, sports or literature and comic characters in an unusual way. Two years ago Snails shone at the Cartoon Meeting Point in Pisek (CZ) where artists from all over the world met. Opening ceremony will start a few minutes after the start of the festival on 27th April at 5.15 p.m. You can visit the exhibition every day except Sunday till 26th May.
Vhrsti at the exhibition of the Czech Union of Cartoonists in Poland
[ 2012-02-16 ] Mr Bretislav Kovarik, the president of The Czech Union of Cartoonists, has inaugurated a nex cartoonists exhibition of the members in the Czech center in Warsaw. Vhrsti is among 17 presented authors with his series of „snails´ cartoons“.

[ 2012-02-09 ] An editor Mrs Jana Semelkova made an interview with Vrhsti for the cultural internet server Kultura 21. They spoke about comics, script writing, animated films or books writen by Vojtech Steklac, but they looked into Vhrsti´s private life little bit as well when they mentioned moving form a big city to a village bellow Brdy.
Comics Muggers in BubbleGun
[ 2012-02-09 ] Vhrsti published his one page story Comics Muggers in the sixth independent comic fanzine BubbleGun. You can read about troubles of comics muggers in their work and to be faithful to the black-humorous mood of the magazine, the end of the story gets little bit tragic.
Fight in the Dragon´s Cave
[ 2012-02-09 ] At the end of the last year the XYZ Publishing House added the fifth book, Hellclass & Fitht in the Dragon´s Cave writen by Vojtech Steklac, to the edition Complete Borik´s Episodes. After Golden Credit Card and Magnetic Mobile Phone, it´s completely new Borik, Ales, Mirek and Cenda adventures. The fight mentioned in the title won´t be easy at all because their girl-mates sly Teckertova and Palhounova are in opposition.
Vhrsti About Comics in Domino Broadcast
[ 2012-01-02 ] Vhrsti will speak about Comics in Domino Broadcast for kids produced by Czech Radio 2 on Tuesday 3 January at 7 p. m. He will be the main guest of this magazine together with Adam and Petr, boys who are not only comics readers but try to create it as well. Listeners could call their questions to the life broadcast and the radio has prepared inquiry about the most favourite children comics for Tuesday.
